Privacy policy

This text describes the ad-supported edition. The ad-free beta policy is separate.

Your journey stays local

The game stores completed charts, a compatible current plan, settings, tutorial status and opened help on your device. It has no player account or developer-operated save server. Southwind AB does not automatically receive these records.

Moving or deleting progress

Help → Move progress lets you save a file in a folder you select. It contains progress, settings and opened help, but no advertising or consent identifiers, ad receipts or complete solution paths. Keep it private and use it to move your own journey. Import checks the file and asks you to confirm before merging it. Removing the app or clearing its storage can erase local progress; an exported file survives until you remove it from its selected location.

Device backup

Android cloud backup is disabled for the app. Device manufacturers may still provide their own device-to-device transfer. The game does not operate that service and cannot promise recovery through it.

Advertisements

The campaign, attempts, tutorial and text hints are free. Occasional interstitial ads may appear after later campaign voyages, before the result controls. Tutorial, introductory charts and other chart sets have no interstitial ads. Interstitial ads do not unlock help. You may choose a rewarded ad for a new route section or a full solution preview. Already opened help remains available. If an ad is unavailable, you can explicitly choose free help instead. Closing an ad before earning its reward does not unlock new help.

Google services and privacy choices

This edition includes Google Mobile Ads and the User Messaging Platform (UMP). The privacy service checks applicable choices when the app starts; this may contact Google even if you do not choose an ad. Ads are requested only when the actual SDK privacy check permits them and either you request new help or a later campaign voyage is approaching an eligible ad break. No interstitial appears during planning or sailing, or just because you return to the app. Required Privacy options are available in Help. No choice is inferred from a saved game or imported file.

Advertising data

Google documents processing of IP-derived approximate location, app interactions, diagnostics and device or other identifiers for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, using encryption in transit. The app removes Android advertising-ID and ad-services permissions, but that does not remove every SDK identifier or all advertising data. Google’s policies and your applicable privacy choices also govern its processing.

Local help records

To keep an earned reward attached to the correct chart, the app saves bounded local operation receipts and opened help. Manual free fallback records its reason separately. These records are not sent to a developer analytics service. Google may independently process ad events through its SDK.

Support and privacy contact

If you choose to contact Southwind AB, the information you send is used to respond and resolve your request, and retained only as needed for that purpose and applicable record-keeping obligations. Your choices

You can delete local app data using Android’s app settings, and delete exported files in their chosen folder. Keep an export first if you want to retain your journey. Contact the publisher about information you have sent directly to support. For Google’s data practices and available controls, see Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. The publisher cannot erase local device data remotely or promise deletion of Google’s records.

Audience

The publisher has not yet selected the intended age groups and launch markets. Adult demo testing is not a decision about the game’s audience.

This Lightway website

This policy covers the Lightway Android game and its dedicated website, published by Southwind AB. The website uses Cloudflare Pages for hosting. Cloudflare processes technical request information, such as IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and protect the site. The supplied site has no forms, analytics scripts, advertising scripts or tracking cookies. Game progress is not uploaded to this website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its processing.
